Second Round by HR...
Telephone Interview
It is a little strange for me to get this Tel. Interview today. Just because:
Telephone Interviews
The telephone interview is the most common way to perform an initial screening interview. This helps the interviewer and the candidate get a general sense if they are mutually interested in pursuinga discussionbeyond the first interview. This type of interviewing also saves time and money. They may be tape recorded for the review of other interviewers. The goal, for the candidate during the phone interview,is to arrange a face to face meeting.
To be frank, I was really shocked by HR's question about my future plan. Since I was hibernating at home for these days, I hardly considered my bread the other day. How could I dream of my future?
(Motivation Job Interview)
Q:What's your work plan for the next five years?
Q:Where do you hope to be in five years?
Q:What goals, including career goals, have you set for your life?
// I am into business profession in the area of computer and electrical products since 2004, nearly 4 years till now. In all these years I am talking with sales, negotiating with customers, dealing with all kinds of documents--bidding documents, agreements, contracts and internal charts everyday. I am experiecing challenges and feeling fresh everyday. I like to continue doing this.
I care about three things in my career development in the future:
More connected to marketing.(Market planning, expansion)
More connected to management.(Project management, Data/system analysis)
( More connected to leadership.)
More close to proficiency.
Q: What Are Your Goals?
//Sometimes it's best to talk about short-term and intermediate goals rather than locking yourself into the distant future. For example, "My immediate goal is to get a job in a growth-oriented company. My long-term goal will depend on where the company goes. I hope to eventually grow into a position of responsibility."
Q:What are your personal weaknesses﹖
//"I get attached to details."
I know being too attached to details can drive my coworkers crazy. I am not a perfectionist, sometimes I just a little over meticulous. Certainly, paying over attention to details may make me neglect the "mainstream".
(Certainly the attention to detail might detract more from volume of projects, but sometimes it's getting the last 5% of the job done that makes chances for success skyrocket. )
//I am no good at setting up AV equipment for presentation.
//I am too organized.
//I really need to work on my leadership skills. I'm a good worker and totally competent, but sometimes I lack the confidence to stand up and take a leadership position.
//"What is your greatest weakness?"
*Pause* .....
Look slightly embarassed .......
"I am not the type of person that dwells on my weaknesses, not that I don't have any, I just find it a difficult question ...(short pause)... Ok - I think that my greatest weakness is that I am sometimes too much of a perfectionist. At times I have continued to perform a task over and over until it is perfect when it didn't need to be. I occasionally have to remind myself that in certain situations, "good enough" truly is "good enough."
//Honestly, I'm sure I have one, but I can't think of any right now...
//My weakness is to answer such introspective questions.
//Sometimes I tend to bite off more than I can chew.
Q:What are your strengths?
I have had over three years' experience with a IT company as a bussiness assistant.
Q: What is important to you in selecting an employer?
Q:How would you define “success” for your career? At the end of your work life, what must have been present for you to feel as if you had a successful career?
The 'Future' Question
Otherwise known as the "big picture" question, the future question goes something like this: "Where do you see yourself in five years?"
The best tactic: Talk about your values.
Don't get too detailed about your specific career plan. Instead, discuss things that are important to you professionally and how you plan to achieve them. If growth is a goal, mention that. You can also talk about challenge, another value that employers prize in their employees.
