Everything should be made as simple as possible, BUT NOT SIMPLER.

    Story Summary for “Duffy’s Jacket”
“Duffy’s Jacket,” by Bruce Coville, is a short story that takes place in a huge, dusty cabin in the woods.

The main characters include the narrator, Andrew, and his cousin Duffy, their two moms, and Andrew’s little sister, Marie.

The problem that they face is that Duffy keeps forgetting things. This leads to an even bigger problem involving a strange, mysterious creature. The two families leave for their camping trip, but have to return to get Duffy's suitcase. Once at the cabin, they spend a lot of time cleaning it up. Afterwards, they find a message on the wall that says, “Beware the Sentinel.” Later in the day, the kids go hiking in the woods. Duffy loses his jacket, and Andrew has a strange feeling that they're being followed.
That evening, Andrew’s mom and aunt leave to get supplies, and the children are left alone, which makes Andrew nervous. Suddenly they hear a scratching at the door. Duffy looks out the window and sees something huge. The children run to the barn and back to the house while a big creature chases them. Eventually they find themselves cornered in the house. The
Sentinel comes through the door, throws Duffy his jacket, and says, “You forgot your jacket, stupid.”

The narrator tells us that this event had such an impact on Duffy that he hasn't forgotten anything in over a year. We discover that  sometimes bad habits can cause big problems.

    Target III、根据关键词,复述一遍,注意句子间的讯息机构以及时态的表达。
    关键词:句子的主詞、受詞及句間連詞(如接續詞、接續副詞等)、補充敘述的部分。
    Target IV、听写全文,一句一句听。

    Target VI、录音。

He says it usually doubles productivity but during that time in Madagascar it produces than average of eight tons per hectre. That was four times than usual average.
In the late nineteen nineties, professor Alparf began trying to spread the world about SRI. Supporters say there had been reports from many areas of large increases in productivity and profits, but not everyone is persuaded.

Kingder Vesman is an agricultural expert at the university of Nabrasca at Berlington. In his words, there is no strong evidence that SRI is more effective than the best conventional rice growing method. Kingder notes that productivity in irrigated rice field has been slowing or snaplating for years. He says there should be more researches into this problem and help to solve them. But Norton Aparf says he looks forward to more field trials next year which he believes or confirms the effectiveness of SRI.

The World Bank says that farmers are using this system in India, Tannunaduo state, are harvesting forty to eighty percent more rice than before. They report using eighty five percent less seeds and save sixty-two percent on water usage.

    今天晚上网站出奇的慢,无法回帖然后得到原文做比对。

Some farmers irrigated rice in Asia, Africa, America are using production method called SRI. SRI is short for the system of rice intensification. It does not require new seeds, it only requirs changes in the way that rice farmers manage plants, soil, water, and nutrients.

With SRI, farmers use fewer seeds
    transplant them earlier than usual
    leaving more room
let roots and leaves spread more
    less water
    They keep fields moist,
    don't continously flood them
The use of chemical fertilizer reduced or even eliminated

Norman Aparf is a big supporter of the system of rice intensification
He was a professor of government and international agriculturer at the University in Newyork.
    retired but still works
    bring attention to

    preist
    develop Sri in Madagascar
let field trials for the system for three years
